The Cordoba chess board is made in Spain from brown ash burl and light maple veneer. Its warm brown squares sit against pale maple in a traditional colour combination.

The natural figure of the ash burl remains visible beneath the high-gloss lacquer, so the darker squares vary slightly from one board to another.

The Cordoba chess board measures 50 cm (19.7 in) overall, has 5.0 cm (1.97 in) squares, and weighs 2.3 kg (5.1 lb). It suits tournament-size chessmen with a king height of approximately 3.75–4.00 in.
